Tips for Writers Who Want to Make Money Online

If there is one thing I have learned about writing for the Internet, it is there are two types of writers. Those that claim to be professional freelancers and those who just don’t have what it takes to make it – so they fiddle here and there and tinker with online content, blogs, and article submission. Maybe they throw some articles on Associated Content, Bukisa, or Constant Content once in a while, but it never adds up to a REAL income! That’s not enough for ME!
I came into Internet writing and freelance by accident. It took more than a year for me to get the bug for writing full-time and I haven’t looked back since. I try to limit myself to writing just 6 to 7 hours a day, but I could write until my fingers bled if I didn’t stop myself and force sleep once in a while.
Fresh Topix is a place where you will find real information on writing. Step-by-step instructions on building a writer’s website and even a bit of off color commentary and humor once in a while. Stay tuned and subscribe to my content – you won’t want to miss a thing.

There is nothing worse than having time to write and spending that time researching. I find too many writers have great dreams, but find they cannot make a steady income because they spend more time browsing the web for great information than they do writing. In order to make money writing online, you have to write – we are not paid by the hour most of the time.
How can I write more in less time with less research?
In my experience, beginning writers tend to write on very broad subjects. The Internet is not new my writing friends, we need to micromanage those topics until they are much, much smaller.
For instance, if you love flowers and gardening – do NOT try to make money writing online by writing about flowers and gardening in a general way. Instead, write down everything you do when tending garden, planting, choosing the best flowers, arranging flowers, planning out flower colors in the bed and so on. Each of these base topics can have 5 to 10 articles written about them. That’s pretty small, huh?
The next time you think you are fed up with trying Internet writing for money – just narrow down those topics and you will find you have a lot more to write about.

Too many writers offers their services through forums and blog postings without offering a professionally styled website. Notice I did not say “professionally built” just styled. With WordPress, creating a great website takes only a few hours. After the website is set up, writers can use the pages to promote their written word and offer details about products and services they offer.
There are hundreds (maybe thousands) of websites out there offering FREE wordpress themes, but I tend to stick with the ones WordPress offers. These are tested and bug free. Typically they are also easier for the freelance writer to get up and running, especially those with little or no coding, HTML, or php knowledge.
Stay tuned for a DETAILED guide to creating a website and, as always, keep writing, blogging, facebooking and tweeted to make more money freelance writing online.

SideTick is a new to me website that pays people to socialize. You can sign-up here: SideTick
The site is 100% free and claims to pay a user $15 a month for just reading one email a day and commenting on the topic of discussion – with a real answer. It seems there should be a catch, but the website has been around since 2008, or at least that is when the domain name was purchased.
SideTick.com is owned by Ken Adamson who also owns about 15 other domains according to Whois. After looking around the main page of the website, there is no About Us information provided, which leaves me a bit leery.
For now, SideTick is proving to be a welcome distraction after a long day writing, but don’t look to make a ton of money on the website for just browsing around.
